General Practitioner Registrars
A fully qualified doctor experienced in hospital medicine, who is invited to spend 12 months with the Practice to gain further knowledge of General Practice. Our current Registrars in the Practice are:

Practice Manager

Our Practice Manager, Nadia Ghanbari, is responsible for all the personnel, administrative and business aspects of the Practice. Nadia is available to help with any non-medical problems relevant to the Practice and to discuss surgery arrangements, suggestions or complaints.

Administration Team

Administration Staff: Elizabeth Brown, Louise Hart, Elaine McLauchlan, Lisa McLaren, Helen Robertson, Margaret Teevin, Alison Welsh, Jillian Devlin and Nicola West. Our Admin staff answer the telephone, arrange appointments and deal in strict confidence with any non-medical queries you may have.
Our Administrators have been trained to help you in the most appropriate way, and you are asked to try to co-operate with them. On booking your appointment, you may be asked to give a few details. Please do not be offended by this, as it will help us to help you. For example, the Administrator may feel that your problem will require longer than the time normally allotted for each patient. If your request is of a personal or confidential nature, she can, at your request, take your call or speak with you in a private office.

Secretary: Mary Long types all referral letters, organises hospital appointments and carries out any other secretarial work required by the Practice.

Attached Staff

District Nursing Team
The District Nursing team attached to the Practice provide advice and support to patients and families confined to home. They also provide a range of nursing care and treatments.

Health Visiting Team
The health visiting team offers support and health advice to families with babies and children under 5 years on topics such as breastfeeding, postnatal depression, child development and information on local groups. The team works in close contact with the doctors and other members of the Primary Care team e.g. midwives and voluntary groups.

District Midwife Team
The attached District Midwife team from the RAH work with the doctors at the Ante-Natal Clinic in the Surgery. They are involved in the care of the mother and baby before, during and after the delivery in the hospital and at home.

The attached Phlebotomist will see patients who have been referred by the doctors for blood tests.

Substance Abuse Counsellor
Is available to the Practice for 1 session per week to work with Dr MacPhillimy/Dr Nichol in counselling patients with drug related problems.

Colin Mason,  Katie Earle-Payne and Liz McLusky assist the Practice with all aspects of prescribing analysis and compliance.

MSK Physiotherapist

Dipti Mahapatra is with the Practice on a Monday and Wednesday to support patients as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner.
